The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluation andmedication management for LifeWorks NW clients in an outpatient or residentialsetting. Clients may have chemicaldependency, emotional or behavioral disturbance and/or other psychiatricdiagnoses.

Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's Beaverton site. 

EssentialResponsibilities: 

• Provides psychiatric evaluation forclients including gathering and maintaining patient information and records,including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, andother professionals. Analyzes andevaluates patient data and test findings to diagnose nature and extent ofmental disorder.
• Reviews and evaluates treatmentprocedures and outcomes of other psychiatrists and medical professionals.
• Provides information and educationabout pharmacological factors in the treatment of and service of clients toother agency staff and the general public as needed.
• Provides ongoing medication managementand monitoring including monitoring for side effects and therapeutic drug levels.
• Provides consultation with PrimaryCare Providers, LifeWorks NW therapists, social workers, psychologists,psychiatrists and treatment team when indicated.
• Maintains chart notes in electronichealth record system within 24 hours of patient care.
• Provides medical supervision of clienttreatment plans including review and signature.
• Advises and informs guardians,relatives, and significant others of patients' conditions and treatment. 
• May be required to work evenings orweekends.
• May be required to travels betweensites.
• Teaches, takes continuing educationclasses, attends conferences and seminars to increase understanding of mental,emotional, and behavioral states and disorders. 

• Master's degree in MentalHealth Nursing with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)license and prescriptive privileges.
• National Certification allowingMedicare billing.
• Demonstrates effective communicationskills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in aculturally diverse environment.
• May require ability to work someevenings and/or weekends.
• May require access to a car and validdriver's license.
